HEY HEY!
It has been over two years since I blogged, and my my my it has been a tough two years. However, I am beyond grateful that He is a God that rescues His children. God has been doing such a new thing in me and around me and I always want to help others get closer to the Father.
The other night I taught a bible studies class and the topic was "God Is." I want to share the notes the Lord gave me to give to them to you.
My prayer is that you will get an understanding of who God is and began to trust Him as just that, in Jesus Name Amen.
God can be whatever we need Him to be the catch is, do we trust Him to be those things? Often times in prayer we began to question and ask God where is He or why isn't he showing up in this way. Do we know Him to be the things we are asking for or do we only ask these things when it is necessary?
In Genesis 1:1 it says "In the beginning God (Elohim) created (by forming from nothing) the heavens and the earth. (AMP) we see where the earth is formed from nothing God created it with no help and no suggestion. He is the ultimate creator. (Elohim) God is so dope! He's not only the creator of earth, but to every creation that walks the earth, God created including me and you! Psalm 139-13-18 reminds us that He is the one that formed us in our mother's belly, fearfully and wonderfully made.
God is our refuge. Refuge is something providing shelter. If I could replace something with God, the definition would be " God is providing shelter." To back up with scripture, Psalm 46:1 says "God is our refuge and strength mighty and impenetrable, a very present and well proved help in trouble (AMP) Not only can God provide shelter in the physical, but He is spiritually letting us know He is our Protector.
God is a spirit. When you think of a spirit many times we associate it with only the negative side. I want to discuss it based on seeing a gentle and loving spirit which is God. God is as a spirit. A spirit is the nonphysical parts of a person which is the seat of emotions and character; the soul. Spirit is not only a noun but it is a verb. We know a noun to be a person place or thing. God is all of those things, and more. A verb is used to describe an action, state, or occurrence. God is a God that is omnipresent, He is the beginning and the end. Spirit as a verb means to convey rapidly and secretly. So that means God is a spirit that moves rapidly effectively and He touches our soul. John 4:24(AMP)says, "God is spirit the source of life, yet invisible to mankind and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." I want to go back for a moment, I stated God moves secretly. God is not a God that HAS to hide, but we as people sometimes have to still away to hear feel and sense His voice. Psalm 27:5 says, "For in the day of trouble He will hide me in His shelter; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me. Often times its in our secret place is where we find and hear God's voice and then he begins to moves rapidly in our lives. In order to see God in the spirit we have to deny our flesh and tape n to the Holy Spirit that dwells inside of us.
We have a lot of spirits that roam the air, but the one that connects to our source of life, lives inside of us. We don't have to tap in to other spirits, the things we try to tap into often draws us away from the very thing that we are already connected too.The spirit we need to tap into is the spirit that dwells within us.
I want to give you scriptures to read to give you and understanding:
John 16:1-22 Jesus explains the Holy Spirit to the disciples.
Romans 8:12-17 reminds us we are not of the flesh.
God is Abba Father, God tells us he has adopted us into His kingdom, we belong to Him. Sometimes we feel in our suffering in our pain, and in our circumstances that God does not see or is with us, but I want to encourage you back to vs 17 of Romans 8, " For I consider from the standpoint of faith) that the sufferings of the present life are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us. "
God gives us a choice to be His children, and when we decide to be His children we will endure somethings that don't feel good but we will also rejoice in the things that do.
God is the great Shepherd. A Shepherd is a person who tends and rear sheep. We are sheep. Sheep don't know their way unless they are led by a good shepherd. Psalm 23:1-6
He is Lord, the definition of Lord is someone or something having power, authority, or influence; a master or ruler. God is the Lord of Lords., there's no one above Him or beneath Him. God has the biggest influence on our life, if we obey His word and His voice.
Savior He is. Savior as a noun means, a person who saves someone or something. The Christianity definition gets straight to the point, it says, Savior is God or Jesus Christ as the redeemer of sin and the savior of our souls.
Sometimes when life happens and we leave and stop connecting to our source the enemy begins to play on our mind. We began to feel guilty and put ourselves down on the very things God has already forgiven us for.
Romans 8:1 AMP "Therefore, there is no condemnation (no guilty verdict, no punishment" for those who are in Christ Jesus ( who believes in Him as personal Lord and Savior.
So I want to encourage your heart to focus on who God is, meditate on His word and His voice, glen to what He has spoken in His word, trust Him to be exactly who He is.
Stay encouraged know I love you, but God loves you so much more.
